Welcome to the Wirral Seaside Runs website.
Wirral Seaside Runs is a traditional series of eight small friendly races of 3 mile/5 km, run in support of local charities and organised by Pensby Runners. They are held monthly from March to October each year. All races are enter on the day with registration inside Leasowe Lighthouse. There is loads of free parking available. We have just completed the September race. The final October race s will end this seasons series. October is another Sunday morning 11.00 start.
Grand Prix trophies will be given out at The start of the October race. I will publish a table of trophy winners here later this month.
The Seaside race start is from near Leasowe Lighthouse, Moreton, along the sea embankment to finish at Harrison Drive just past the Derby Pool pub and near to Wallasey Village. While most run back to the car park at the start you will need to arrange transport at the finish otherwise. It is a flat and fast course and provides a regular indicator of fitness and performance. They are very popular with club runners and also beginners and joggers and have become a permanent fixture on the running scene of Merseyside over the last 30 years. Although there is no formal cut off time it is expected that new ‘seasiders’ will aim to complete the three miles within 45 minutes.
Check out the location and route map and upcoming race dates. Don’t forget the Seaside Runs Grand Prix Series – new laser etched glass trophies will be awarded at the end of the season for completing 6 races!
